As we explained in a previous article, the demand for Software Engineering professionals offers excellent job opportunities in large companies, with good conditions and high salaries, creating a sort of “new middle class” in many Central American countries.
In Costa Rica, for example, software engineers can earn from $3000 per month and up. There are even senior professionals who receive more than $8000 per month which is well above the average basic salaries in the country.
However, earning a lot of money also comes with the challenge of knowing how to manage it. Many engineers have never been trained in personal finance or investments, and for that reason, they can be the subject of bad business deals or simply put spend it as it comes in without regard for their financial stability in the future.
An alliance for the benefit of our collaborators and “friends”
Given this, SoftwareCraft’s CEO, Albert Paredes, decided, as part of his social impact program SocialCrafting, to promote and sponsor face-to-face and virtual workshops for software engineers, collaborators, and allies of the company.
“Our purpose is to provide added value and strengthen win-win relationships with our stakeholders while promoting the financial education that we all need so much, and software engineers are no exception,” said Paredes.
To achieve this, he teamed up with Denise Bermúdez of Ruta Libertad Financiera. She has a degree in public accounting with more than 25 years of experience in the financial sector and has served as treasurer of an employee labor association, a financial and accounting manager in different transnational companies as well as a tax advisor in different national and international companies.
“It is a pleasure for me to be able to share my knowledge about personal finance and help more professionals to achieve economic freedom, improving their quality of life and safeguarding their assets for the future,” explained Bermúdez.
The workshops are free of charge for the company’s collaborators and for employees of the companies with which SoftwareCraft does business.
The first workshop will be held in August at the WeWork Escazú offices. The details of the date and time are still to be confirmed. Contact us if you would like to participate.
